Jaipur is generally safe for tourists and one of Rajasthan's safest cities. The main concerns are aggressive touts, overcharging, and gem scams — the city's gemstone trade attracts con artists who target tourists with "business opportunity" schemes. Standard travel precautions apply.
Taipei
Taipei is one of the safest major cities in Asia. Violent crime is extremely rare, and even petty theft is uncommon. The city feels safe to walk around at all hours, including for solo female travelers. The biggest risks are typhoons, earthquakes, and traffic.

Jaipur has a semi-arid climate with extreme heat in summer (April-June), a relatively brief monsoon (July-September), and cool, pleasant winters (October-March). The desert proximity means large temperature swings between day and night, especially in winter.
Taipei
Taipei has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild, damp winters. The city sits in a basin which traps heat and moisture. Typhoon season runs from June to October. Rain is common throughout the year, with the northeast monsoon bringing persistent drizzle in winter.

Jaipur
Jaipur is best navigated by a combination of auto-rickshaws, ride-hailing apps (Uber/Ola), and cycle rickshaws in the Old City. The city has a small metro system (2 lines) that covers some key routes. Hiring a car and driver for a full day is an excellent value proposition for covering multiple forts.
Walkability: The Old City (walled city) is compact and walkable — Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, and the main bazaars are all within walking distance of each other. The streets are busy with traffic but navigable. Amber Fort and Nahargarh Fort require transport. Carry water — Jaipur is hot even in winter afternoons.
Taipei
Taipei has an excellent MRT system that is clean, efficient, and covers most tourist areas. Combined with buses, YouBike, and affordable taxis, getting around is easy and cheap. An EasyCard is essential for seamless travel across all modes.
Walkability: Central Taipei is very walkable with wide sidewalks and pedestrian-friendly intersections. The Xinyi shopping district, Zhongshan area, and Ximending are excellent on foot. Some older neighborhoods have uneven sidewalks. The riverside bike paths are also popular for walking.
